Shipping Logistics and Practice Course (Intake 17)
COURSE OBJECTIVE : The course is primarily designed for junior to middle level staff of sea freight and logistics companies (i.e. shipping companies and sea freight forwarders). The objective of this course is to appreciate participants with the concept of the types and functions of different documents and the skills to do a cost-effective logistics operations and third-party logistics in the shipping & logistics industry.
DURATION : 10 sessions from 22 February 2011 to 29 March 2011 ( (22/2, 24/2, 3/3, 8/3, 10/3, 15/3, 17/3, 22/3, 24/3 & 29/3)
CLASS HOURS :7:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.

TEACHING MEDIUM : Cantonese, supplemented with English terminology

CERTIFICATE OF ATTENDANCE : Completion Certificate for those attending minimum 80% of lectures
SUBSIDY: Training Logistics Training Board (TLTB) of Vocational Training Council has agreed to subsidize $825 to each participant who reaches an attendance rate over 80%. The application form for partial reimbursement and details will be sent to the student together with the student acceptance letter within 3 working days after the enrollment deadline. Reimbursement will be made within eight weeks after the end of the course via VTC-TLTB.

AWARD : Upon successful completion of the Association’s qualifying membership courses (Shipping Logistics and Practice Course & Marketing/Sales/Customer Services/CRM in Sea Transport and Logistics Course), students will be eligible to apply for Studying Membership of HKSTLA. DEADLINE FOR APPLICATION : 8 February 2011 (Applicants will be notified of acceptance or otherwise to the course latest by 11 February 2011.)
CANCELLATIONS/REFUNDS: - An administration fee of HK$200 will be charged for each amendment/cancellation made on the application ONCE the Acceptance Letter is issued. No guarantee on amendments could be made within 2 working days before the start of the course. - Cancellations/Change of Classes received, after application deadline and prior to the commencement of the course, will require to provide also a written explanation to HKSTLA and co-organizer for approval. HKSTLA/co-organizer may in its sole discretion and without assigning any reason for its decision approve or reserve a seat for the enrollee in future course or refuse any such application for cancellation. - After the commencement of the course, no refund will be given. - Classes in the morning, afternoon or evening will be cancelled if typhoon signal No. 8 or above, or black rainstorm warning is still hoisted after (or is announced by the Hong Kong Observatory to be hoisted at/after) 6:00 am., 11:00 am., and 4:00 pm. Respectively. Participants will be notified when the class will be made up as soon as possible.
