Hong Kong Sea Transport and Logistics Association Ltd - Project Coordinator
Acting as a platform, Hong Kong Sea Transport and Logistics Association (HKSTLA) focuses on enhancing logistics service level, promoting logistics industry and networking among members and stakeholders. Job Title: Project  Coordinator

Responsibilities:
- Supervise the project officer to handle the project tasks
- Oversee the carrying out of the project generally to ensure that all the provision for Trade and Industry Department (TID) agreement and Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) agreement and that all the requirements relating to the Project are complied with.
- Monitor the proper use of the Funds to ensure that the Funds are expended in accordance with the Approved Budget
- Exercise economy in the use of the Funds and ensure that the Funds are spent in the most cost-effective manner
- Attend meetings on the Project
- Monitor the project to cope with the TID agreement, HKPC agreement and HKSTLA requirements
- Prepare the "Progress Report", "Final Report" and "Post-Project Evaluation Report" as required by TID
- Communicate with stakeholders such as Trade and Industry Department, Hong Kong Productivity Council, Hong Kong Sea Transport and Logistics Association, (HKSTLA) Steering Committee members, Focus Group members, the press, associaitons, academic institutions and others
 
Project Scope:
The implementation agent of the project is Hong Kong Productivity Council with the following scope of services.
 
1. Steering Committee and Working Committee Formation
  • - A Steering Committee will be formed to oversee the working direction of the project
  • - A Working Committee will also be formed between HKSTLA and HKPC to organize and implement the project
  • - The Working Committee will send invitation to supporting organizations and select Hong Kong retailers to speak at the opening seminar and to participate in the focus group session
 
2. An Opening Seminar
- A half-day opening seminar will be organized to let Hong Kong Logistics Players beware of the program, and to attract them to participate in the future project activities
 
3. Eight focus Groups and Hong Kong Logistics Company Guidebook Preparation
- Eight focus groups will be organized and conducted to address specific logistics needs of eight different retailing sectors/related product categories
  • E-Commerce B-2-C Market;
  • Department Store;
  • Food;
  • Wine;
  • Catering & Restaurant;
  • Cosmetics;
  • Luxury Goods; and
  • Health Products

- Results of focus groups will be documented and used to propose the winning strategies and operation tactics for Hong Kong Logistics Players serving

Hong Kong Retailers in the domestic sales domain, and to highlight the business benefits for Hong Kong Retailers using Hong Kong Logistics Players'

services

- A Hong Kong Logistics Company Guidebook with the focus group results will be published (3,000 copies produced by an external vendor; vendor to

be appointed by HKSTLA) and introduced to Hong Kong Logistics Players. It is planned to be distributed in the upcoming seminars and training

workshops in the project

 

4. A Result Dissemination Seminar

- The focus group results and the Guidebook will be announced in the dissemination seminar. The project team will also invite the participating Hong

Kong Logistics Players to introduce their services and solutions to the participants, which will include Hong Kong Retailers and potential Mainland

customers

 
5. Nine Industry upgrade Training Workshops
- Nine Industry Upgrade Training workshops will be organized to share the industry best practices and Hong Kong Logistics  Player solutions to general Hong Kong logistics practitioners (1 workshop as an overview, and 8 workshops for each of the specific retailing sectors/related product categories). Each Industry Upgrade Training workshop will accommodate 20 students in maximum
 
6. A closing Seminar
- A closing seminar will be organized to address the project results, insights and new bsuiness potentials for Hong Kong Logistics Players, enabling them to move forward and further expand their markets in the Mainland
 
Requirement:

- Degree holder or above

- At least 10 years relevant working experience

- Experience in implementing government-funded project preferred

- In-depth knowledge in logistics industry

- Good communication skills in Cantonese, Putonghua and English

Responsibilities:
- Be the key person for project coordination and administration
- Coordinate Project Steering Committee Members, Working Committee Members, Supporting Organization Representatives, HKSTLA Ex-Co Members and Corporate Members for project implementation
Liaise with related government departments (such as Trade and Industry Department) for project status update, reporting and other related issues
Solicit support and participation from other industry associations and organizations for the project events
Assist in project events such as seminars, focus groups and workshops
Handle daily external enquiry about the Project and project deliverables
Handle project procurement and payment issues
 
Requirement:

- High Diploma / Degree holder or above

- At least 1-year relevant working experience

- Experience in implementing government-funded project preferred

- Knowledge in logistics industry preferred

- Ability to work independently and under pressure

- Good communication skills in Cantonese, Putonghua and English

- Mature Applicants with substantial logistics industry experience but without the stipulated academic qualification will also be considered
